The Colts players will be back on the field on Sunday, and from what I can tell, they are all in a good mood. For the first time in a long time, they are really playing football, and they are doing it with a lot of gusto. No one could be blamed for expecting the Colts to win this game, but everyone is getting an added boost of confidence because of how their unlikely hero, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, has used the game to send a message that he is here to stay in Indianapolis for a long time.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton sent his fans some positive vibes with a hilarious tweet earlier this week. He’s not the only player doing it.
The Colts lost arguably their best football player when Darrius Heyward-Bey signed with the Oakland Raiders, but they may have gotten the best replacement in the form of Bengals wide receiver T.Y. Hilton . Since taking over in Week 8, Hilton has accounted for the eighth-best fantasy point total over the last four weeks in PPR scoring. (We’re talking 11.2 FPs in Week 12.) Hilton’s game has changed since Indianapolis’ Week 12 bye, with the 28-year old wideout putting up big numbers in the run game and the passing game, which has helped out Andrew Luck and the Colts’ top-ranked offense.
The Indianapolis Colts have had a rough training camp and preseason thus far, with many key players suffering severe injuries. Carson Wentz and Quenton Nelson, who both had foot injuries in August, have returned to practice, but Wentz has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. However, Indy just suffered another devastating blow to their offense, as Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has been ruled out for the season.
The news about Hilton came as a shock to Indianapolis supporters, who had hoped that their squad was finally getting healthy. Hilton, on the other hand, recently took to Twitter and used three words and a GIF to give Colts fans hope while also issuing a warning to the rest of the NFL.

The Indianapolis Colts revealed over the weekend that T.Y. Hilton, their famous wide receiver, would miss the start of the regular season due to a neck injury he exacerbated during practice.
According to ESPN, Colts head coach Frank Reich stated, “He was feeling some pain on the journey to Detroit (last week).” “I had my scans done. It’s a problem with the disk. This is a difficult situation. There will be additional meetings, assessments, and views. We want to make sure everything is in order.”
Hilton’s injury is a major setback for Indianapolis, as the four-time Pro Bowler had a great finish to the 2020 season, catching 34 receptions for 511 yards and five touchdowns between Weeks 10 and 17.
“I had told (general manager) Chris (Ballard) many times that I felt T.Y. was looking as good as I’d ever seen him in training camp,” Reich said, according to ESPN. “He seemed to be as quick and instinctive as ever. I could see he and (quarterback) Carson (Wentz) had an immediate connection even in the little time they worked together. When I was chatting to Carson, I could sense that.”
Fortunately for the Colts and Hilton, Reich told ProFootballTalk that he doesn’t believe it’ll be a season-ending injury. And, based on Hilton’s most recent tweet, that seems to be the case.
T.Y. Hilton gave Colts supporters hope with three words and a GIF.
Following the news of Hilton’s injury, the Colts receiver went to Twitter to provide some encouragement to Indianapolis supporters.
Hilton captioned a GIF of Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator with three words: “I’ll be back.”
He also used the hashtag “#GhostMood,” which is a play on his moniker.
The three lines “I’ll be back” may seem simple, but the Terminator GIF adds a layer of significance. Hilton will not only be back, but he will be ready to dominate when he does.
However, the tweet should be seen as more than simply a message to calm Colts supporters’ worries. It should serve as a warning to the rest of the NFL. That’s a frightening notion if Reich is correct and Hilton looked as well as he had ever seen him.
In Reich’s first season as Colts coach, Hilton had a great year, catching 76 receptions for 1,270 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games. It was the sixth time in his career that he had surpassed 1,000 receiving yards, and the third time he had beyond 1,200.
The Colts’ offense may be deadly if Hilton can regain that level of performance, particularly if he and Wentz already have a relationship.
However, until he returns, Indianapolis has the tools it needs to keep playing well.
Without T.Y. Hilton, the Colts can still win some games.
The fact that the Colts will be without their best receiver to begin the season does not imply they will struggle. Quarterback Carson Wentz will still have some excellent targets to throw to in Week 1 (if he’s healthy).
Zach Pascal has proved to be a capable pass receiver, finishing second on the Colts in receiving yards with 629 yards last season, but second-year player Michael Pittman Jr. is projected to make a huge jump forward in 2021. In 2020, he had 503 receiving yards in 13 games, with 424 of those yards coming between Weeks 9 and 17.
In his first two years with the Colts, former Ohio State standout Parris Campbell showed flashes of having the potential to be a successful player, but he has battled with injuries so far. If he can remain on the field this season, he’ll be a tremendous big-play target for Wentz. Indy also selected youngster Mike Strachan this summer, and at 6 feet 5 inches tall and 224 pounds, he has the potential to be a great player; he just has to put everything together fast.
The Colts, on the other hand, don’t have to depend on their passing game. With their powerful offensive line and three-headed monster of Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Marlon Mack, they boast one of the greatest rushing offenses in the NFL. Wentz can just throw the ball off to those players and sit back and watch them work.
Hilton’s absence for any length of time is a terrible blow. He’s a terrific player and a wonderful leader. However, the Colts are still in excellent position to have a successful season in 2021. All they have to do now is remain healthy as the new year begins.
